Everton's away game against Aston Villa in the Premier League has been postponed again.
But a statement released on the Everton website this morning confirmed: "Everton's away match against Aston Villa, scheduled to be played on Sunday 17 January at 12pm, has been postponed by the Premier League Board.
The match was originally due to be played on Saturday, but was pushed back to 12pm on Sunday after a 'large number' of coronavirus cases in the Villa camp.
"Newcastle United’s postponed match at Aston Villa, which was due to be played on 4 December 2020, has been rescheduled and will now be played on Saturday 23 January at 8pm, live on Sky Sports.
It remains to be seen when Villa vs Everton will now be played.
As a result, the Premier League Board has agreed to Aston Villa’s request to postpone the match on Sunday.
As a result, Villa were forced to field their youth team for that night’s FA Cup third round tie with Liverpool, which they lost 4-1, given that the tight fixture calendar left them with little scope to postpone the fixture.
