Ademola Lookman finally got another opportunity to start in the Premier League as Everton beat Bournemouth 2-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon and the winger’s showing against Eddie Howe’s men proved that he could be the answer to Marco Silva’s struggles on the right-flank.

The manager has stuck with Theo Walcott on the right-wing for the majority of the season but following a string of really poor results, he had little option but to give the 21-year-old Lookman another run.

Everton, also, can’t afford to have players in their team at the moment that don’t make their presence felt and Lookman could be the injection they need to make another push for a Europa League spot.

Clever passes to the likes of Seamus Coleman, Lucas Digne and Gylfi Sigurdsson kept the Bournemouth players guessing and his ability to create space was a real positive for the Everton team in attack.

If Lookman makes that right-wing spot his own and keeps improving then he will certainly emerge as one of the new bright talents in English football.

Although it is still valuable for a club like Everton to have Walcott in their squad to come on from the bench at certain times, his future at the club suddenly seems uncertain.

And his performance offered the Merseyside club something different in a couple of ways as Silva’s men claimed only their second win in their last nine league matches.
