Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is reportedly angry at having his Deadline Day transfer to Everton fall through, according to The Times.

Did you want Everton sign Marcos Rojo?

It’s fair to say that many Everton fans had been left disappointed over the promise of signing Rojo, and that would have been compounded had Everton paid United’s inflated fee.

As frustrating as it must have been for Rojo, I’m glad that Everton stuck to their guns over the type of deal they wanted.

Everton eventually failed to sign a centre-back to replace Kurt Zouma, despite having spent the entire transfer window looking to find the Frenchman’s successor.

United wanted to sell the 29-year old, who had fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, however the Toffees were concerned over his injury record and only wanted a season-long loan deal, and both clubs refused to budge.

The Argentine defender was heavily linked with a switch to Goodison Park on the final day of the English transfer window, although a deal ultimately failed to materialise after the two clubs couldn’t agree on what type of deal to do.
