Oh how Everton have missed Lucas Digne over the last few weeks.

The Blues had been a little blunt as Carlo Ancelotti placed more focus placed on the defensive side of the game.

But when Ancelotti's side needed to break forward - as was emphasised against West Ham United - things were somewhat lacking.

Without Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the pitch Everton needed to create chances in any way possible in a new system, and it was clear from the start they would need Digne's attacking input as much as possible.

Ancelotti will be delighted to see him back and, when Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin in particular can start again, you have to hope this will signal the creative juices flowing again for the Blues.

His fitness levels are fantastic, his dedication to the side in whatever role he is playing is exemplary and his creative influence is crucial to the way Everton play.

When he made his Blues debut back in August 2018, he was brought on for Richarlison in the final minutes of Everton's 2-2 draw - completing the game as a left midfielder in front of Leighton Baines at full back.
