Dodged Bullet: Everton lucky they didn't sign Moyes target in 2012 after failed PL spell

Everton fans, how big of a bullet did the club dodge regarding Eder?

Everton could certainly do with an out-and-out striker or two this summer at Goodison Park to try and help them continue their upward trajectory.

Considering Eder has failed to hit double figures ever since his days at Braga, Everton must be hugely relieved they did not take a chance on him all those years ago.

It has been rather difficult for the Toffees’ faithful to watch at times as they have been accustomed to some great strikers in the past, with the likes of Dixie Dean, Graham Sharp, Duncan Ferguson, Wayne Rooney (in his first spell with the club) and Romelu Lukaku all worth notable mentions.

Although that is not exactly a huge transfer fee to fork out, especially for a striker, you could say the club were lucky to dodge a bullet on this one.

Eder was eventually brought to the Premier League in 2015 after a three-year spell with Braga for a fee thought to be around £5m (Eurosport) and he turned out to be a complete flop.

Marco Silva’s current crop of forwards have struggled to find the back of the net on a regular basis, leaving a lot of the responsibility to the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
