Dominic Calvert-Lewin cites Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba as the role models he looked to as a young striker but reveals that Duncan Ferguson is now shaping him into becoming a proper Everton centre-forward.

“There was also Didier Drogba, watching him as a young kid in the Premier League I think he had a little bit of everything.

He said: “As a young kid, one of my heroes was always Thierry Henry.

The Sheffield-born player has started five of the last six games up front for the Blues and will be looking to continue his run as Bournemouth come to Goodison Park .

“With exposure on the pitch and experience I believe that I can bring all those aspects to the game.” While Calvert-Lewin doesn't have either Henry and Drogba to mould his game at Finch Farm, he does benefit from daily tuition from another iconic Premier League striker from that era and one who knows exactly what Evertonians want from their frontmen.

“It's a pressure that I quite like and I think that I can grow into and it's only going to make me a better player.

I've got Duncan Ferguson every day with me on the training pitch helping me on my game.
