Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Yerry Mina is back in contention for Everton's match against Leicester City on Wednesday.

The Colombia international picked up a thigh injury at the beginning of June shortly after the squad returned to training at Finch Farm to prepare for Premier League matches to come back.

However, the problem was thankfully less severe than initially feared and the defender was back with his teammates last week.

Ancelotti confirmed that the centre-back is in contention for Leicester's visit to Goodison Park, but three other injured stars remain on the sidelines.

The boss confirmed: "Only Yerry Mina is back.

"Sidibe will be back on Friday, and Theo Walcott will be back in training on Monday. Fabian Delph is still injured and is doing individual sessions. I don't know exactly when he can recover properly.

"I think it's really important [to have players back] because now we begin a period where we are going to have a lot of games.

"It will be important to have the whole squad available."

Wednesday's match will come a week after the Blues were last in action with their 1-0 win against Norwich City - and five days before their next match away to Spurs on Monday.

But, heading into a congested run of fixtures, the Ancelotti is pleased with the overall physical condition of his squad.

"I think that we have recovered well, I think the physical condition is good," the Italian added.

"Also the statistics show in the game against Norwich, we used more intensity compared to the game against Liverpool.

"From this point of view, we are really good. It can be a small advantage that Leicester played on Sunday, we are fresh and we can play the game with a lot of intensity."

The city of Leicester saw its lockdown restrictions tightened earlier this week as the coronavirus pandemic continues to have an effect across the country.

But Ancelotti is confident in the protocols the Premier League have laid out to deal with this eventuality.

"No we don't have any concerns," he remarked.

"The Premier League protocols gave us the confidence that everything will be ok. We are not happy of course for the city of Leicester which is in lockdown."
