Carlo Ancelotti claims Everton had little time to work on their new formation in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Fulham.

Everton lined up in a 3-4-3 formation for the first time this season, ditching Ancelotti’s preferred 4-3-3 shape.

“Now we are back to win and we know we have to work and have consistency.

He told talkSPORT: “From the physical aspect, we lost players that were involved in the international break like Richarlison, James [Rodriguez], Allan, and we lost a little bit of quality.

“We have to work to be more compact in the defensive line, but we have time to work this week.” Everton were beaten by Southampton, Newcastle and Manchester United before the November international break.

The Toffees ended a three-match losing streak thanks to goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin (2) and Abdoulaye Doucoure at Craven Cottage.

“We tried to change it a little, we didn’t have a lot of time to work on this.
