Hojbjerg urged to join Everton over Spurs

Former professional footballer Noel Whelan believes that Tottenham transfer target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should join Everton over Jose Mourinho’s side.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Southampton in the next transfer window and 45-year-old Whelan has urged him to move to Goodison Park.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “They are both desirable football clubs. Everton are very up and coming now. Ancelotti will have a full pre-season ahead of next year, so they will be exciting. Who does not want to work under him?”

“Everton would be a better option because there are players there such as Morgan Schneiderlin who will be moved on.

“He has not done enough and Ancelotti has had enough time to look at players now. He knows who he wants at the football club.”

Tosun open to Bundesliga or La Liga transfer

Everton forward Cenk Tosun has revealed that he would be open to a move to the Bundesliga or La Liga if he were to leave the Premier League.

The Everton forward featured in just five Premier League games this season before a loan move to Crystal Palace, scoring one goal in the process. Surgery to a cruciate ligament injury in early March is likely to see the 28-year-old for the most part of 2020 but the suspension of football means that he will miss fewer games than first feared.

However, the performances of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison mean that Tosun could have a tough task earning a starting place upon his return and he has revealed that a move to Spain or Germany would be most probable if he left Merseyside.

“If I ever leave the Premier League, then I would like to play in Spain or Germany. I want to stay in Europe. I have no plans to return to Turkey right now. But, of course, I can consider returning to my country after a couple more years,” he told NtvSpor.

“I went to Crystal Palace to play regular first-team football but I got injured. Luckily, Euro 2020 was postponed.

“Now we have a big tournament to play next year. I hope I will get my chance at Everton. If not, then I have to make a plan. Because I need regular football.”

Richarlison calls heartbroken Brazilian fan

The suspension of Premier League football recently scuppered the plans of a Brazilian Everton supporter who had saved for five years to afford travel over from South American to watch his favourite team.

23-year-old Bruno had planned to watch games against Leicester City and Southampton, but those plans have obviously been stopped. To thank him for his support, Richarlison surprised his fellow Brazilian with a phone call.

On receiving the phone call from the Everton star, Bruno was quick to outline how much he loves Richarlison as a player.

“When I saw you play, I thought: Imagine this kid shining with the Brazilian team shirt, or with my team [Everton’s] shirt,” said Bruno.

“And now you're calling me, I can't believe it!”

The Everton striker also added that he will send Bruno some club merchandise and guaranteed that he will meet up with him at Goodison Park when football returns.

“Mate, I'm calling with the greatest joy,” Richarlison said.

“You, in addition to being a Brazilian, are an Everton fan and tried to fulfil the dream of seeing our team playing at the stadium. We will send you an autographed shirt, boots and a kit of Everton products.”
