The 24-year-old Gremio star is expected to join a European club this summer, having caught the eye with 14 caps for Brazil since first making his international debut two years ago.

A switch to Everton would be the best fit between name and club since Wolfgang Wolf was appointed manager of Wolfsburg - and there is interest from the Toffees, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, via Sport Witness.

Ancelotti is said to be keen on the player, who according to the latest report would cost in the region of €25m.

Record season ticket renewals announced

There remains uncertainty over when fans will be allowed to return to football stadiums, but in spite of that Everton fans have renewed their season tickets in record numbers.

The club has announced that 98% of pre-existing season-ticket holders have signed up for next season, which is in the region of 30,500.

“The renewal of nearly every Season Ticket for 2020/21 reflects the commitment and passion of Evertonians to their club,” said Richard Kenyon, Everton’s Director of Marketing, Communications and Community.

“In what can only be described as difficult and uncertain times, it is an incredible show of loyalty – and, as always, we are very grateful to every single Season Ticket Member for their tremendous, ongoing support.”
