Everton issue squad travel warning as Bernard faces UK quarantine

Bernard could be among the Everton players who have to return from post-season trips in the coming days because of UK quarantine regulations.

The Blues are due back for pre-season training in the middle of this month and club officials warned players to be fully aware of entry requirements on returning to this country if they chose to holiday abroad.

Bernard, for example, is believed to have returned to Brazil earlier this week following the end of the season, but with Government guidelines insisting on a 14-day self-isolation period when returning from the country, the winger will need to be back in the UK in the next couple of days to ensure he can start summer training at Finch Farm on time.

Everton's joint-top scorer Richarlison is understood to have taken his holidays in Europe and has not returned to Brazil.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has returned to Iceland and will currently not be required to spend a period in self-isolation when he returns to these shores but the midfielder will have taken a Covid-19 test when he arrived back in his homeland.

The same goes for Lucas Digne, who is understood to be back in France, and Cenk Tosun, who has returned to Turkey, with their homelands on the Government's quarantine-free list.
