Yannick Bolasie issued a come and get me plea to Sporting CP, revealing in an interview with Record (h/t Sport Witness) that it’s “up to me” to earn a permanent move away from Everton. The 30-year-old became surplus to requirements under Marco Silva and embarked upon a loan move to Sporting to get regular playing time.

The Primeira Liga outfit have the option to sign Bolasie for £4m at the end of the season, but the DR Congo international concedes that he has to earn the right. He said: “First of all, it is an honour to have the opportunity to play for a club like Sporting. I have to look at things step by step, because we can never predict the future.

“As you all know, Sporting have the option to buy me at the end of the season, but it’s the performances that will speak for me on the pitch. That’s up to me: going on the pitch and doing my best to help the team achieve positive results.”

Bolasie contract at Everton doesn’t expire until 2021, but it’s unlikely he will see the next two years out at Goodison Park. Since his 2016-move from Crystal Palace, the wide-man has scored only two goals in 32 appearances – his last outing for Everton came against West Ham United on May 13, 2018.

The 30-year-old spent the last 12 months on loan at Aston Villa (August 25, 2018 – January 21, 2019) and RSC Anderlecht (January 31, 2019 – June 30, 2019) after falling down the pecking order on Merseyside. If Bolasie can match his Anderlecht form (17 appearances, six goals, three assists) at Sporting, the Leões could make a move next summer.
