Everton have provided a touching gesture for stricken non-league football star Alex Moffitt, 17, who continues his recovery after being hit by a car earlier this year.

Shortly after the accident occurred, St. Helens manager Lee Jenkinson also spoke highly of the starlet.

He revealed yesterday that Everton hero Graham Stuart had been to visit the St. Helens Town footballer in hospital and updated the ECHO on his son's improvement.

"Netherton Blues supporters club have also offered us an away game of our choice on them for next season, further proof that the whole Everton family look after their own."

"Alex continues to make progress and is now having weekend visits home," he said.

"Everton in the Community have already been in touch and offered Alex and his brother Nathan a VIP visit to Finch Farm or Goodison Park which will take place next season.

"My brother David also contacted Everton via a friend and as a result, Graham Stuart came in yesterday with a bag of goodies including a first-team shirt.
