Jordan Pickford is determined to perform well against Liverpool today following his last appearance at Anfield.

A year later and Pickford is determined to have put that horrific moment behind him, now focusing on helping Everton rediscover their form after a dreadful first half to the season.

If Pickford is on top form, it gives the Blues an advantage, but they will need more than the shot-stopper to perform if they are to leave with at least one point.

The England international was involved in a mix-up last season at the Reds’ home ground that caused their fans to experience utter elation, while Everton fans were left completely deflated.

Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Pickford said: Personally, obviously, it was tough to take because I’ve made an error.

In the 95th minute of last season’s Anfield Merseyside Derby, a poorly connected shot from Virgil van Dijk that ballooned high into the air looked to have signalled the end of a 0-0 draw with both sides claiming a point.

Pickford will certainly have his work cut out for him this time around, and the home crowd won’t help the goalkeeper settle.
