Everton are expected to return with an improved offer for Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Billy Crellin.

The Blues had a bid, believed to be worth £200,000, knocked back by the League One club this week.

Fleetwood are aware that 19-year-old Crellin is attracting interest from other top flight clubs and are determined to hold out for a better deal.

Everton released three goalkeepers from their Academy ranks last month and need to bolster their options in that department.

Crellin is an England youth international and was part of the under-17s squad, which included Everton defender Lewis Gibson , that won the World Cup in 2017.

Wolves have also been credited with being admirers of Crellin's but Everton have made the first move.

However, Fleetwood have told the Blues they must up their offer to land the teenage stopper.
