Everton's newest addition to their goalkeeping ranks owes his career at Goodison Park to his father and brother.

Nico Hansen, 17, penned professional terms earlier this month and becomes the latest American native to represent the Blues.

“I don’t think he realises what an amazing feat it is to do what he’s done,” the 20-year-old said.

Back in August 2014 - when Roberto Martinez was just one season into his tenure - Hansen's brother Luca was spotted turning out for Weston FC, a youth side from South Florida where the brothers hail.

I’m excited to see what he does next.” Luca's journey in football isn't over, either.

He was born in 2001 and the other boys were 1998s.” Pastora added: “He made intelligent decisions, was very composed, good hands, good feet, and a very good shot-blocker.

“I was so young, 13, and had no idea what to expect,” Nico told the Miami Herald.
