Everton's start to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign was admittedly a bit of a flat one, but there were still significant positives to be taken from it.

The Blues had chances to win but couldn't take them - and were hit by the losses of Andre Gomes through injury and Morgan Schneiderlin after his second half red card.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin, after making an unexpected debut against Palace at the weekend, could well be the man entrusted with that position in the squad against Watford - but he will still need time to adapt to the Premier League.

Schneiderlin's two yellow cards against Crystal Palace means he will be suspended for the visit of Watford to Goodison on Saturday.

"The manager works very hard on defensive shape and the positions we should be in," Coleman told evertonfc.com .

However, despite encountering a number of difficulties, Marco Silva's side still managed to come away with a point thanks to their strong defensive organisation - and a good couple of saves from Jordan Pickford.

Including the recent game against Crystal Palace, the last seven matches Schneiderlin has started have seen the Blues concede just two goals - both away to Spurs on the final day of last term.
