Fraser Hornby joined KV Kortrijk on a season-long loan in late-August, but he’s yet to make his debut due to injury.

The 19-year-old missed Kortrijk’s First Division A clash with KV Oostende (August 31) after spraining his ankle, but he appears to have recovered after being selected to start for Scotland u21s against Croatia this evening.

He’ll be hoping to impress to give Kortrijk manager Yves Vanderhaeghe a selection headache ahead of their meeting with Royal Excel Mouscron on September 15.

The Belgian outfit are currently 11th in the First Division A with eight points from six games this season, coming off the back of three wins and a draw from their last four.

Hornby has competition in attack from Ilombe Mboyo (six appearances, three goals) and Imoh Ezequiel (two appearances), but he could make a statement of intent if he impresses while on international duty.

The 19-year-old opted to move away from Everton after finding himself behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Cenk Tosun in the Everton pecking order, but time will tell if he can make a success of his temporary stint in Belgium.
