Taking place on Sunday 13 October with a 9.30am start, the ‘If You Know Your History' event will take competitors on a 5K journey through 141 years of Everton Football Club's history and will raise vital funds for ‘The People's Place', Everton in the Community's latest fundraising campaign to build and develop a purpose-built mental health facility close to Goodison Park that will support anyone in times of need.

The ‘If You Know Your History' 5K event is open to all the family and welcomes both runners and walkers.

Everton in the Community has partnered with race organisers BTR Liverpool to host the city's first ever Everton-themed 5K run.

Organised in partnership with BTR Liverpool, the ‘If You Know Your History' event will include various information points along the route that will be staffed by Friends of Everton Park and the Everton Heritage Society.

“Everyone appreciates the physical benefits of exercise, but the mental health benefits of exercise can often be overlooked; it can help boost your self-esteem and confidence as well as decreasing depression and anxiety and I'd love to see as many people as possible taking part and helping us raise money for The People's Place whilst battling the stigma surrounding mental health.” BTR Liverpool Event Organiser Alan Rothwell added: “This brand new 5K event is something really different as it showcases first-hand the history of this famous football club and gives supporters a whole new perspective on the 141 years from the beginnings back in 1878.

Everton in the Community CEO Richard Kenyon said: “We are really excited to be working with BTR Liverpool to launch the first ever Everton-themed 5K event.

Turning left in the park will lead participants towards Goodison Park, home of Everton Football Club since 1892 and finish in view of the Sir Philip Park End Stand.
