Everton manager Marco Silva admits Andre Gomes’ next move is “not something that it is in our hands”.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Silva admits it is Barcelona who will have the final say, urging Gomes to concentrate on his football for the time being:
If Andre is doing well then he is helping our squad.
The best scenario to look at is – it is not just in our hands as a club, not just in the hands of Andre, there is a third party as well.
Silva is preparing to host former club Watford on Monday night, as Everton look to continue what has been a largely positive opening four months to the season.
Gomes has been excellent since joining on loan from Barcelona in the summer, bringing class and authority to the Blues’ midfield.
Gomes will again be a key figure in the middle of the park, as he has been since arriving on Merseyside.
It is not something that it is in our hands.
