Marco Silva salary: How much does under-fire Everton manager earn?

Marco Silva saw his Everton side thumped 5-2 in the Merseyside derby. The Toffees have failed to beat city rivals Liverpool at Anfield since 1991. The result also dropped Everton into the Premier League’s relegation zone as the pressure continues to mount Silva.

The Portuguese coach was appointed at Goodison Park on a three-year contract in the summer of 2018.

Speaking at the time, he said: "I'm really proud to be the new Everton manager.

"I'm excited and I'm really happy to take this big challenge for us as a club and for me as a manager.

"I want to express my thanks to Farhad [Moshiri], to the Chairman, to the Board of Directors and to Marcel [Brands] as well for the confidence in my work.

"I know the huge history of Everton as a club and what the fans expect.

"I'm sure with everybody working together I will be ready for this challenge."

Silva led the club to a respectable eighth-place finish in his debut season.

But things haven’t gone to plan this term, with Everton winning just four of their opening 15 games.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Silva earns £3million per year.

That works out as approximately £58,000 per week or £250,000 per month.

His salary is some way short of the club’s top earners, with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jordan Pickford and Theo Walcott all reportedly earning in excess of £100,000-a-week.

Following Everton’s recent defeat to Norwich, Silva said he ‘understood the rumours’ surrounding his job.

"I spoke with them [the board] Saturday, I spoke with them Sunday, I spoke with them Monday, it's normally something we do often," he told Football Focus.

"All of us we want the same, we want the best for our club, and you are together in this fight of course.

"I understand all the rumours even if I don't know all of them. I don't have reasons to not be confident in my work."
