Jonjoe Kenny has once again admitted that he’s uncertain about his future at Everton, revealing in an interview with 90min that the Toffees haven’t clarified where he’ll be next season. The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Schalke 04 and was previously keen on staying in Germany, but Everton might have a need to keep Kenny if Djibril Sidibe isn’t signed permanently.

Kenny said: “Nothing’s been said. I know what Everton are going through because it happened here at Schalke, it’s crazy, the rules and regulations with the coronavirus situation. They’ve got enough on their plate right now, they’ve just got to finish their season and we’ll see from there. But no, nothing’s really come from Everton yet.”

The £8.55m-rated England U21 international joined Schalke on a season-long loan last summer and has gone on to make 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and making three assists. He’s impressed at the Veltins-Arena and may be worth a look-in for Everton next season, but the Blues haven’t yet made a decision.

Sidibe has been a regular while on loan at Goodison Park and can be signed permanently for €15m, but Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands are said to having second thoughts. Seamus Coleman is likely to be first-choice next season, but he’ll turn 32 in October so a long-term replacement will be needed.

Everton have been linked with Emerson, Jesus Corona, Santiago Arias, Ola Aina and Bouna Sarr this summer, so they have options outside of Kenny, Coleman and Sidibe. Time will tell who they end up with, however.
