Premier League: 3 Things to Look Forward to as Liverpool Host Everton at Anfield

Here are three things to look forward to as Liverpool take on Everton in the season's first Merseyside Derby at Anfield.

Liverpool sit atop the Premier League table, eight points off defending champions Manchester City, while Everton are languishing at the bottom half of the table, two points above the relegation zone.

Yet another edition of the Merseyside Derby rolls around, and the deck is stacked nicely.

Liverpool are currently 26 points better off than their local rivals and few, if any, will consider Everton favourites in the clash.

The current league leaders, however, are looking a bit fragile at the back, and have not managed a single clean sheet this season.

Recent meetings have proved anything but straightforward for the Reds, but current results indicate Liverpool are in prime position to heap more misery on the visitors.

Their scratchy form means another close Merseyside derby could be on the cards, although Everton are unlikely to pose a great deal of threat in front of goal due to a lack of cutting edge.
