Henry Onyekuru’s agent William D’Avila recently spoke to Estadio Deportivo to reveal that his client “is open to everything” and wants to join “one of the big leagues” this summer.

He said: “Henry is open to everything, he would like to take the step to one of the big leagues.” The £31k-per-week Everton striker has yet to make a single appearance since his move from KAS Eupen in 2017 due to his failure to get a work permit and could be moved on ahead of the new season.

Onyekuru has spent the last two years on loan at RSC Anderlecht (July 2, 2017 – June 30, 2018) and Galatasaray SK (July 12, 2018 – June 30, 2019), making a total of 72 appearances.

He’s scored and created 32 goals during his two-year loan spell away, but the Nigerian international may have to leave the cub if he can’t get his work permit.

If Onyekuru is a regular at the African Cup of Nations, however, that could all change.

Sport Witness say there are conflicting reports linking him with a permanent move to Turkey and Spain, but Onyekuru might bide his time before making a decision on his future.

The 22-year-old has three years remaining on his deal, but an early departure may be on the cards according to D’Avila.
