Defrel joined Roma permanently from Sassuolo in 2018 and has gone on to make 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring just one goal.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Everton are keen on Grégoire Defrel and could battle Watford for his signature this summer.

He appears to be surplus to requirements at Roma after a disappointing debut season, meaning Everton could capitalise on the situation to bring the Martinique striker to Goodison Park.

Danny Welbeck has been linked with a move to Everton, as Marcel Brands wants a target man with mobility, but there’s been no movement on any potential signings.

The Toffees are in the market for a centre-forward to replace Cenk Tosun and compete with Dominic Calvert-Lewin next season, but whether Defrel is their No.1 target remains to be seen.

His future is uncertain at parent club AS Roma, however.

Defrel earns £0.85m-a-year at the Stadio Olimpico and has an asking price of around £13.36m.
