The England international will be Everton’s third summer signing after Jonas Lossl (Huddersfield Town) and Gomes (Barcelona).

According to Simon Jones and Jack Gaughan of the Mail Online, Everton have agreed a £10m deal with Manchester City (£8.5m initial fee + add-ons) and a three-year contract with Fabian Delph to bring him to Goodison Park.

In 2017/18, the 29-year-old averaged a tackle (46) or interception (30) every 23 minutes in the Premier League.

He struggled for minutes at Manchester City last season, but he’s an effective ball-winner when given more opportunities.

Marco Silva has already strengthened his midfield by turning Andre Gomes’ loan move permanent from Barcelona, but the Everton manager might be preparing for Idrissa Gueye’s exit with Delph’s arrival.

He underwent a medical on Saturday, and Stuart Brennan & Charlotte Duncker of Manchester Evening News say all that is left is for the transfer to be officially announced.

Gueye has been the subject of a £27m bid from Paris Saint-Germain and previously made it clear that he wants to join the Parisians so he can play in the Champions League.
