Richarlison set to relive career high point as Everton fans hope he reprises same role

Evertonians could be forgiven for being less than enthusiastic that their most prolific frontman of the season to date is playing in an international friendly halfway around the world that kicks off at 4am on Wednesday but this fixture has a special place in Richarlison's heart.

The venue is appropriately-named given that the fixture marks a replaying of the high point of Richarlison's career to date.

Having played 83 minutes in the previous game against Colombia, Richarlison has been tipped to reprise his Copa America final role and start on the bench on this occasion, possibly making way for Ajax's David Neres.

Blues of course will also be hoping that Richarlison remains well-rested ahead of the weekend with Marco Silva's side travelling down to the south coast to face Bournemouth for a fixture in which the Brazilian was red carded last season, for head-butting Adam Smith.

Last time out it was the Copa America final, with Brazil facing the heavy weight of expectation to deliver that you would expect of a five-times World Cup-winning nation facing a relative minnow on home soil.

For Richarlison the game completed a remarkable fairy tale comeback story having began the tournament as one of Brazil's starters up front only to be dropped after a couple of lacklustre displays that saw the hosts booed by their own fans and then quarantined from the rest of the squad when he was laid low with a nasty bout of mumps.

It's a decision that might win favour with many among Everton's fanbase who will be keeping their fingers crossed that their star stays fresh ahead of the 5,260 mile return trip to Liverpool.
