Former Everton goalkeeper Connor Hunt has been appointed goalkeeping coach at North West Counties Premier Division outfit Burscough aged 23.

He’s actually retired from there.

“Ready was at Blackpool with Connor and Everton signed him.

"I met Connor [Hunt] at Conor Ready’s leaving party,” Burscough manager Nick Matthews explained, referencing the midfielder who left Victoria Park to continue his career in New Zealand earlier this season.

“Then he asked me if he could take me up on the offer and has come down and worked with [Burscough goalkeeper] David [Jones].

Hunt rejected the offer of a new contract at Blackpool, then in the Championship, in August 2014 and opted instead to pen a three-year deal at Goodison Park.

So that's another good signing we've made.”
