Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has been announced as the club's first ambassador in the USA.

Howard will also represent Everton at NBC's Premier League Mornings Live earlier on the same day for the Blues' league encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion.

After Everton's game against the Seagulls, Howard will take part in a Q&A and interactive games with supporters at the Scholz Garten, the oldest beer garden in America.

He recorded 17 Premier League clean sheets in the 2008/2009 season – a tally surpassed only four times across a campaign since the club’s first league season in 1888/89.

Howard will make his first appearance in his new role in Austin, Texas, later this month with fans being invited to attend an exclusive event with the American on Saturday, 26, October.

The former Blues man made a record 354 Premier League appearances during a 10-year stint at Goodison Park with his last game coming in 2016.

Howard's first outing in his new role is part of a two-day fan festival that enables Stateside supporters to watch a selection of English top-flight games.
