Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has sent a strong message to the club's fans ahead of his side's first clash at Goodison Park this season.

Ancelotti's men face Salford City in the second round of the Carabao Cup this evening and the Italian is eager to make the club's home a fortress despite a lack of fans in attendance.

The 61-year-old discussed the clash in an address to fans on the Everton website prior to this evening's kick-off and supporters will love his fighting talk.

Ancelotti also gave his thoughts on the Carabao Cup competition and what it means to Everton this season.

"Both mindsets are powerful, especially when we all have the belief we can achieve something important for Everton."
