The reason behind Jordan Pickford's appearance in the 1996 European Championship England goalkeeper kit has been revealed.

Pickford, who is Everton and England's number one after recording 14 clean sheets in the Premier League this season on the back of an impressive World Cup campaign last summer, was photographed in the classic 'Skittles' jersey worn by David Seaman during the tournament.

"I did the illustration at Classic Football Shirts, where I work, during the World Cup, we were doing some of the England players in classic and memorable kits of the past as they were doing so well," O'Mara told the ECHO.

That 1996 goalkeeper kit from Euro 96, is one of the most memorable as it was worn by David Seaman and is known as the 'Skittles' kit because of all of the colours.

"It then led to me getting freelance work for Aston Villa, Adidas and Chelsea and ultimately led to me getting my job at Classic Football Shirts."

"Then one of our employees was down at Finch Farm and had the opportunity to meet Pickford for a couple of minutes, so he took some classic goalkeeper shirts, this being one of them.
